HOLDING FIRE

HOLDING FIRE (2019)

Holding Fire follows the trajectory of rising Yemeni-American activist Somia Elrowmeim, challenging expectations within her own community to reach higher positions of power, by rallying the Arab vote and helping flip her district from Republican to Democrat in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It provides timely insights into activists transitioning to politics, as America is gearing up for the next elections.

The film was supported by the Pulitzer Center, and selected to festivals such as 2020 DOCNYC and DC Shorts International Film Festival.
